Concerts by Cowboy Junkies and Warren Zevon are the featured free downloads for members this week starting Wednesday at the Concert Vault, a spokesman told Vintage Rock ‘n’ Roll Examiner July 30.
The Cowboys Junkies show, to be available July 31 through Aug. 2, is from a performance at the Newport Folk Festival in 2008. The show, the last stop in a lengthy tour that lasted 18 months, features the songs “Miles From Our Home,” “Just Want to See,” “Those Final Feet,” “Good Friday” and “Murder Tonight in the Trailer Park.”
Warren Zevon’s show, from Oct. 1, 1982 at the Capitol Theatre in Passaic, N.J., features emcee MTV DJ Mark Goodman and includes this comment to the audience before he began “I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead.” “They say that everything that dies will come back – and if that is true, I hope I come back as Suzanne Somers. No, just kidding, but in case I don’t, I’d like to thank everyone for a great time and have a great life…” Other songs in the show include “Excitable Boy,” “Mama Couldn’t Be Persuaded,” “Cadillac Ranch” and, of course, “Werewolves of London.” The show is available Aug. 3-6.
The free downloads are available only to Concert Vault members.
