Worried about the long lines that are sure to pop up this summer at the new Transformers attraction at Universal Studios Florida? Don’t want to wait for hours while you chew up valuable park time? Fear not! The ride will have a certain useful feature that helps locals and those in the know beat long waits at other attractions like the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, Men in Black, Spiderman, and Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey: the single riders line.
Transformers doesn’t officially open until June 20, but as I reported in my previous article and in my full review (with video), it’s already having soft openings. If you catch one, you’ll see that, although it’s not active yet, the single riders line is already in place. Check out the photo at the top of this article to confirm.
Single rider lines are useful to parks like Universal because they allow empty seats to be filled. They’re also useful to guests because the wait tends to be much, much shorter, since many people don’t want to be separated from their party. You often end up on different vehicles if you go through the single riders line with other people. While that’s not so good for parents with young kids and those who just can’t stand to be separated from their herd for even a few minutes, it’s great for everyone else.
To see if the single rider line is open during your visit this summer, just follow the signs or ask one of the Team Members stationed at the ride. You might not want to bother if the standby wait is short, but that’s not likely to happen too often with a brand-new attraction. Go through the regular queue once just to soak in all the details, then switch to the single rider line and enjoy Transformers to your heart’s content.
