As reported previously, Samsung announced the Galaxy S4 Mini on Thursday and will reveal more details at a London launch event scheduled for June 20. After additional details were reported yesterday by CNN, a video was posted today by U.K. carrier, Three. Consumers can view the video of the “more pocketable” version of Samsung’s flagship smart phone right here.
At the start of the video, Brendan Arndt, the device portfolio manager for Three shows how much easier it is to hold the S4 Mini, compared to the full-sized S4. Next, the video reveals how the S4 Mini compares in size to its bigger brother, the S4, and the forthcoming Galaxy Mega.
With a screen of just 4.3 inches, the S4 Mini appears really compact nestled next to the Galaxy S4 with its 5-inch screen and the Galaxy Mega with its huge display measuring 6.3 inches.
The video then details the S4 Mini smart phone’s specs, including a Super AMOLED display, 1.7 GHz dual-core processor, 1.5 GB of memory, and 8-megapixel camera. Running on version 4.4.2 of the Android operating system (Jelly Bean), the S4 Mini also includes 8GB of storage and a microSD card slot that can hold 64 GB of data.
Brendan Arndt then promotes the smaller size of the S4 Mini, saying that since many people may not like the larger sibling with a 5-inch screen as they are too big to carry around, the S4 Mini offers similar features as the Galaxy S4 in a “more pocketable size.”
