Who is in the show?
E.B. Janet in the play is played by Anne Marie Scheffler who is also one of the writers for the show. A professional actor for over 17 years, She has seven critically acclaimed one woman shows, including Situation: NORMA, Not Getting it, and Suddenly Mommy! Tasha Woode is played by Michelle Vezilj. She is a graduate of The University of the Arts in Philadelphia with a BFA in Musical Theater and is now based out of New York City. Most recently, she was seen in the New York Musical Theatre Festival but some of her favorite credits include Nine (Luisa), Follies (Young Phyllis), and Savage in Limbo (April). The heart throb of the show, Hugh Hanson, is played by Patrick Whalen. Whalen is also the Writer, Assistant Director, and Choreographer for Spank. He first fell in love with the stage in a performance of Cabaret as the EMCEE as well as singing Jazz in the Atlantic Jazz Festivals. Patrick has been showcased in such roles as Roger in Fallen Rock’s RENT, Rocky in the Rocky Horror Show. From his first days training at the Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts in Toronto, Patrick had a bit of a different streak from the rest of the community. With his first year working in burlesque, Patrick (Patastrophic Sexapeel) won Best New Male Performer in Strip Search 2010 and was asked to join Boylesque, Canada’s premier all-male burlesque troupe. Since then Patrick has been working in stunt on film, writing for his band and studying self-defense.

Directed by Jim Millan, also the head writer, Millan is one of Canada’s most versatile stage directors. In the last two years, he has worked with Teller and Todd Robbins to create Play Dead off-Broadway and Larry King to create his one-person show, Larry King’s Standing Up, as well as Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman to create Mythbusters Live. Other shows directed include 3 tours with The Kids in the Hall and over 50 shows with Toronto’s Crow’s Theatre, which he founded. Some of his favorite Toronto credits include the premieres of High Life, Come Good Rain, Dali, The Chet Baker Project, Unidentified Human Remains, and Serpent Kills.
