This year, exclusive interviews were conducted at the 19th annual Vans Warped Tour, highlighting some of the proud nerds amongst the long list of bands in a special “Spreading the Nerd at Warped Tour 2013”. With over 100 bands stopping at cities across the United States throughout the summer, I got to speak to some of the nerdiest headliners on the 2013 line-up including Black Veil Brides (BVB) front man Andy Biersack, freestyle nerd rapper MC Lars, Frank Ellrick of Kairo Kingdom, The Indecent, and Billy Pettinger AKA Billy The Kid.

Each of the highlighted artists that I had the pleasure of speaking with had one thing in common, the confidence to celebrate their nerdy hobbies or awkward beginnings and the talent to use their differences from the main stream to create great music. The supportive theme of the artists and overall tour was felt throughout the venue and showed in the thousands of fans who felt comfortable and free enough to gather together regardless of their differences for a full day of music at the Vans Warped Tour 2013.
