Parents looking for a fun way to spend the day with their family on summer vacation can plan a road trip to the all new Crayola Experience in Easton, Pennsylvania. The Crayola Experience received a make over in early 2013, reopening just in time for the summer. Now this fun place is a full four floors of creative fun with activities that will appeal to just about every kid, and their adults.
The biggest change is the removal of the Canal Museum that used to be housed in the top two floors of the building. In its place is a floor dedicated to creations made with melted crayons, including spin art and crayon molding. The water works exhibit is still there but updated in a most colorful way. An indoor playground is another added feature that is very popular with kids who want to explore the many tunnels and slides, along with a floor that can be colored with chalk. New this year is an area where kids can make their own Crayola markers for a token, along with making custom crayon labels.
A great addition to the Crayola Experience is the Cafe Crayola, which replaced the McDonald’s restaurant that was previously located in the building. The new cafe features pizzas, sandwiches, salads, beverages and snacks. There is a bright and colorful dinning area too, where visitors can check out the world’s largest blue crayon. Visitor who prefer to bring their own food are welcome to use one of the outdoor picnic tables on the Square just outside the building. Re-entry to the building is permitted with a hand stamp.
In the bottom floor of the building of the Crayola Experience is the all new Crayola Store. Be sure to check out the back wall that has over 100 crayon colors on display. Visitors can purchase a special tin that can be filled with any color crayon or marker making a customized crayon box and a special souvenir of their summer vacation.
The Crayola Experience is located at 30 Center Square, Easton, PA, 18042. Admission for adults and children over the age of 2 is $15.99 in person or $14.99 if purchased online in advance. They also offer a AAA discount when purchasing tickets in person. Hours of operation vary seasonally, so be sure to check with the calender of events when planning your trip.
