Symphony’s is located in a quaint part of Evanston – it seemed like their dining area is separated into two sections – one is more casual by the bar and the other has booths and seemed a bit nicer. The other section where we usually end up is the part by the windows with some booth seating but it’s typically the ‘family’ section where we will see other families.
Currently, there is a Groupon deal out there but you can also find gift certificates through restaurant.com for Symphony’s to make your meal more budget dining affordable. We usually come here for date night and also for an occasional family dinner out. We typically find free parking in the residential section instead of paying meters but it’s also walkable from the Central Metra stop, as well. My kids love it there with their yummy garlic bread (although my son told me that it was really butter and seaweed on the bread that made it taste so yummy) and their great children’s menu. I love the options for side dishes and you actually get fresh fruit in a bowl and not just a cup.
Their lentil soup is the perfect hearty starter for a meal and their portions are big enough to save for lunch the next day (even their skirt steak salad!) but my husband prefers their seafood where he had this delicious dinner special of a whitefish that was crusted with a hash brown mixture that was just delicious. He’s also tried their salmon and tilapia and with great reviews, as well.
Top off the night with an ice cream sundae or something decadent from their dessert menu (I’m a fan of anything a la mode) and if you’re there with a family, grab an early dinner and then, work it out off in the park next to Symphony’s.
