As a proud graduate of The Ohio State University Sherman Tank decided early on that no matter what he wanted to become a professional wrestler. The 6′ 350# grappler is calling on his fans and those who want to see a change in today’s wrestling to vote for Sherman Tank in the TNA Gut Check Challenge. Voting for bracket 15, of which Tank is part of, began today.
“Growing up I watched The Rock & Roll Express, Dusty Rhodes, Arn Anderson and I wanted to be part of that,” Tank said.
Tank graduated from the Team Taz Dojo gaining many accolades from the former ECW World Heavyweight Champion and master of the suplex. “Taz taught me so much in that short time, it helped make me a better wrestler no dbout,” Tank lamented.
The TNA Gut Check Challenge was inundated the last time voting was enabled with people voting numerous times as well as some participants and their fans being accused of using “bots” in order to pad their vote count. The Challenge was shut down and revamped with measures to ensure that only one vote can be recorded.
“That first time was kind of a let down, I was leading the bracket one day the next I am behind and it was a mess. I am glad TNA fixed things and brought it back, ” Tank offered.
Though Ohio is home for Tank he has started to branch out and work in other states and for a number of different promotions, something D-Lo Brown told him was necessary to make the next step when Tank was part of the TNA Gut Check Challenge in Virginia. Since heading those words Tank has made his presence felt across the Mid-West as well as the Mid-Atlantic which used to be a hotbed for his heroes The Rock & Roll Express.
Tank is quickly climbing the ranks of the NWA as part of NWA Mid-Atlantic Wrestling as well as being on the radar for a possible Heavyweight Championship match against current AIWF World Heavyweight Champion Kyle Matthews.
Whether Tank fights on the side of the righteous or whether his sole intent is to irritate the fans by beating the hero, the fans seem to always be on his side. “I go to a couple of different promotions just to watch Sherman Tank wrestle. If he is not on the show I just stay home, he makes a difference, makes it that much better,” a fan said of Tank.
“Some may see my age (35) as a handicap but I don’t, look at Batista, he started his career late and look what happened to him. I believe I can make a difference, I can add something to TNA that they currently do not have,” Tank said.
“Even if I don’t go any farther in this business it has been great and I look forward to going to the ring and putting on a show for the fans no matter where I am,” Tank added.
Sherman Tank has often been compared to former WWE Superstar Bam Bam Bigelow in being a big man who can work, is fast and is light on his feet.
