Another work week moves to close, and another great Friday wine tasting appears!
This week, there are a couple of Pinot/Burgundy tastings, some for Zinfandel, and four wine-maker specific, and a couple of generalized red tastings, and… There is a BUBBLY wine tasting for those who look very forward to opportunities to taste sparkling.
The videos here are interesting for their range, yet all have to do with tasting wine. The first video, Thumbs up Wine Review: 2011 Turning Leaf Pinot Noir, is as straight forward review on a, wine. The second video, WINE…Red wine review…Girasole Vineyard’s Red Zinfandel…bloopers;) is kind of fun, as the presenter is doing a nice job of representing her own taste, which each of us needs to zero in on, for ourselves. She also, presents some gaps in knowledge, but that’s true for all of us, so watch, and gain confidence. The third one may have you running out the door, instead of reading the rest of this entry. Two wine reviewers fall over themselves, when praising Thumbs Up Wine Review: 2011 Trader Joe’s Reserve Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel.
Now, on to this week’s tasting! Only a couple have us waiting for their information the rest are here, so talk to friends, set your route and TASTE THE WINE.
Remember, do be safe when wine taste, and being with friends, sharing thoughts on what is being tasted is a definite must!
Enjoy this week’s offerings!

“I came back from our short trip to Healdsburg and Calistoga a couple of weekends ago with a serious zin jones going. That’s what happens when you’re sitting out in the sun at 10:30 am drinking awesome Dry Creek zinfandel I guess. Kind of becomes a habit you want to keep going. So keep on keeping on we will be this Friday as I have gathered together a ridiculously great lineup of zins for your tasting pleasure. These wines across the board are not to be missed because they totally deliver the pleasure principle. Which means boatloads of full-bodied, jammy, spicy drinking fun that just so happens to kill it with all that grilling that I’m guessing is coming up in the weeks to come. Bring your tastebuds around for these and they’ll thank you later….”

“Yes, you should bring along some snacks, since you asked. These wines aren’t exactly the shy, retiring types, octane-wise. A solid support group of drinking companions would be a bad idea either. The rest is per usual: the wines open 4:30-8:00 and the first five are just ten bucks with a bit more for your bonus enjoyment. This is going to good, and weather looks very favorable for some patio time!”
