When a teacher fakes illness, what kind of an example does that serve to her students? Apparently Laurel Elementary School teacher, Ashley Barker, from Polk County, Fla. did just that so she could skip class, Democratic Underground reports May 30.
The report states that Barker admitted to officials she faked her illness. She told everyone that her father was dying and she was as well. The first-grade teacher made everyone believe she was dying for an entire year and it turned out she was never at any doctor appointments or the hospital as she claimed.
When this teacher faked her illness, she was at home the whole time as others worried about her fate. She’s now in danger of losing her job. If she could lie about this, what else is she capable of fooling everyone into believing?
