Tebow rumors: It’s hard to find real news about Tim Tebow these days. The unemployed former New York Jets quarterback is somewhat of a cultural icon. Although Tebow has remained relatively out of the spotlight since early May, the Tim Tebow rumors are back in full swing. According to a report from David Fleming of ESPN via NFL.com on May 31, members of Tebow’s camp are “privately admitting that his NFL run is probably over.”
Not long after the emergence of the report, a source who speaks regularly with Tebow revealed to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com that the rumor is “simply not true.”
Furthermore, Rapoport spoke with Tebow’s father, Bob, who strongly denied the rumors by saying, “You are old enough to not believe all you hear.”
Even though the Tim Tebow rumors continue, no one really knows what the future holds for the embattled quarterback. Neither do the NFL teams. Some have expressed interest in Tebow, however, teams do not want circuses. This is similar to what happens when teams assess whether a player will be endangered by his character, there is a certain amount you are willing to deal with if the player is worth the risk. However, when it comes to Tebow, teams are not really willing to see if his talent is enough to endure the media circus that would come with it
So what did we learn? Tim Tebow is still looking for work, and apparently he believes there is still work available.
Will we ever see Tebow in the league again? Express your thoughts below.
