ABC hailed “The Bachelorette” overnight dates episode in Antigua with Desiree Hartsock the television event of the summer, playing up what viewers of the reality TV show have known for quite some time, Brooks is not the one. Although fans of “The Bachelorette” were expecting the waterworks from the two-part season finale on Monday, what made the airing bearable were some of the humorous tweets from BachelorNation.
The first of “The Bachelorette” overnight dates saw Drew getting an invite to the fantasy suite. Yes, she thinks he’s hot and fans agree, as the BachelorNation tweets with @BethSilverstein and @1chicklette depict:
Drew. Great for the fantasy suite, not great for the altar #TheBachelorette
In Desiree’s mind, Brooks is Harvard, Drew is that totally cute liberal arts college nearby & Chris is a safety school.
Dinner was moved to the fantasy suite thanks to a rain out of the beach bonfire banquet with Drew of course accepting the infamous “Bachelorette” overnight card.
He is convinced he is marrying her, but her feelings are not the same, although there was a lot of passion as he sent the cameras away. Now that Brooks said goodbye, he may have a better chance of winning Desiree Hartsock’s heart, or not.
Chris was the next overnight Antigua date, ABC keeping the drama between Brooks and Desiree last, but his stoic nature leaves fans of “The Bachelorette” unsure if he is the one with @wordsmithwesson tweeting,
Chris is like an action figure, but without the action #Bachelorette #MoscatoMonday.
Desiree agreed to relocate for love, but is that love with Chris?
Spaced between dates on “The Bachelorette” episode, Brooks met with his mother and sister for guidance, he is confused not sure why he can’t say he loves her.
The idea of me proposing to her at the end of this really makes me uncomfortable.
Knowing what was happening, @SeddieMania from BachelorNation tweeted the best comment of the night:
I want Des with Chris, they fit, he said he loves her too, Drew, I think he’s unsure. Brooks, just take your hair & go home
Brooks talked to Chris before he told Desiree his true feelings, telling the host of “The Bachelorette” he has concluded Des is not the love of his life. He wants to commit, just not with Desiree Hartsock. Desiree has stated she knows he feels the same even though he hasn’t articulated it, however, if a man can’t say it, then he isn’t on the same page.
In the tear-filled episode of ‘The Bachelorette, as he told her goodbye, Desiree asked “why now?” Brooks answered he just didn’t know. She told him she loved him and she couldn’t say that about the others. He then asked why she hadn’t told him of her love, but she had, she just could not say those words on camera. Has he not watched the reality TV show before?
“It effing sucks” cried Hartsock after telling Brooks she has never had those feelings reciprocated. “I don’t care that you just broke my heart, I love you”, continuing that she was conflicted because she only wanted to go on dates with Brooks and not share her heart.
“Honestly, for me, it’s over” wept an emotional and heartbroken Desiree Hartsock. Will there be a proposal and an engagement? “The Bachelorette” has stated as such and spoilers have confirmed it, but will her “new love” ever feel the fullness of her heart that she had given to Brooks?
The second part season finale of “The Bachelorette” airs next Monday in front of a live studio audience.
