Starling City will be definitely be a “City of Heroes” in the new season of Arrow, as the CW is in the process of developing a potential spin-off featuring The Flash, TV Guide and Deadline reported.
The character has been played by John Wesley Shipp in a short-lived CBS series from 1990-91, where a freak accident made forensic scientist Barry Allen the fastest man alive as Central City’s superhero.
The Flash was also played by Kyle Gallner on CW’s Smallville, where Bart Allen/”Impulse” fought alongside future Superman Clark Kent (Tom Welling) as members of the Justice League led by Oliver Queen/Green Arrow, played by Justin Hartley. The character was voiced by Lex Luthor himself Michael Rosenbaum on Cartoon Network’s Justice League and Justice League Unlimited, and CSI’s George Eads on Young Justice.
The Flash will be a recurring role during Arrow‘s second season with Stephen Amell back as Oliver Queen, the handsome billionaire who spends five years on an island honing his skills as a hooded vigilante archer who fights injustice in Starling City.
Arrow returns Wednesday, October 9 at 8pm on the CW.
