It was another beautiful morning at the Jersey Shore today as the sun dripped out of the sea just before 6 a.m. In Seaside Park the first friends, lovers, and surfers of the summer day were already on the beach or in the water.
For a brief time Superstorm Sandy was forgotten – it’s memory washed away by this morning’s glorious sunrise scene.
A young couple sat on a beach blanket in their sweatshirts gazing ahead at the rising sun. A group of friends played on the sand lifting each other up onto shoulders and capturing memories with photographs.
Meanwhile, seagulls prowled about for food on the freshly raked beach like any other morning. And a fisherman waited for a morning catch on a beach with a long fishing pole planted in the sand by his side.
There was a lone surfer paddling into the waves and a large ship far off on the horizon line.
The Jersey Shore is most definitely open for business.
