Our president’s remarks last week regarding Planned Parenthood at their “celebration” of providing “choices” for women were an abomination, and show an unfortunate lack of understanding of matters of faith on his part. This president is the first ever to extend an official visit to PP while sitting in office, that demonstrates his personal and by extension his party’s embrace of the culture of death that organization represents. It is ironic that he, a person of color should offer these remarks in support of an organization, whose founder-Margaret Sanger began in an effort to rid the world of-in her words “inferior” races.
In closing his brief remarks the president said: “God Bless Planned Parenthood.” Asking God for providence upon a mission that ends the lives of thousands in the womb displays an arrogance like that of Belshazzar. Daniel 5:19- 22 chronicles how the prophet Daniel reminded that king of the fact that God puts power into the hands of his representatives here on earth, just as he had done with Belshazzar’s grandfather Nebuchadnezzar. When Nebuchadnezzar believed in his heart that it was he who had done the mighty works in Babylon, God judged him in an instant and he was afflicted with a disorder that made him like a wolf-man for seven years. He was only released from this affliction when he raised his hands to heaven and blessed God for all that he had done. Belshazzar, Daniel said had chosen to mock God by drinking from the holy vessels and giving thanks to idols, even though he knew what had happened to his grandfather. Daniel translated the writing that the hand of God had placed on the plaster wall of the palace. Daniel 5: 3-6 and revealed to Belshazzar that God had judged his kingdom and found it wanting and that Belshazzar’s time was at hand. Indeed, that night Belshazzar was killed and his kingdom delivered to the Mede.
Perhaps the president should devote himself to re-reading the scriptures he claims to have heard. Perhaps in doing so he would choose his words more carefully so as to bring the light of faith into the darkness of the culture of death. His outward appearances and remarks display an ignorance of the very science he claims to embrace. It seems that science is very convenient to this president whenever it will result in a cash flow to the government. Science is very inconvenient when it demonstrates the beginning of precious human life. The militant feminists shriek about the woman’s right to choose and to determine what she is doing with her body. What exactly does a woman choose when visiting PP? The only “choice” that is offered is death, ending a life, killing, which is in DIRECT sin against the commandment “You shall not kill.” The commandment speaks of killing for sport or pleasure or convenience. As for her body, did not the Lord create the body?
The president should be reminded that “Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.” God has granted him the power to lead his people. He should use this power wisely or risk the ignominy of so many kings before.
