Perk Eatery http://perkeatery.com is favorite breakfast spot for those along the Scottsdale/ Phoenix border in the northern section of town. So much so that some regulars got Guy Fieri and his show “Dines, Drive Ins & Dives” to film there while taping shows around Phoenix last January. Perk also serves lunch and on the lunch menu there are 3 burgers and I went with the Zeffry burger ($9.99).
All burgers are made with Arizona grass fed Angus beef and prepared on the flat top and finished on the grill for nice grill marks. The Zeffry is topped with Pinot Noir onions and melted Brie cheese all served on a toasted bun. The burger was good but not great as it was cooked beyond the medium rare I ordered despite the menu says it would be “grilled to perfection”. The Pinot Noir onions were flavorful and sweet but over powered the creamy, melted Brie cheese making the cheese flavor almost non-existent. On the side you get a choice of fries, homemade coleslaw, fruit or cottage cheese and I found the fries to be perfectly crisp and very good.
Perk is popular for a reason and that reason is the breakfast menu more than Zeffry burger and my next visit it will be for breakfast.
Perk is open daily from 6:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. and is at 6501 E. Greenway Pkwy. #159 Scottsdale 85254 (480)998-6026
