Laugh It Off
Who says doing anything fun in the DMV area has to cost an arm and a leg? At the State Theatre you can bust your gut for less money than you think thanks to its regular comedy showcase, the $5 Comedy Night. This weekend’s event, hosted by Jose Sanchez, features local comedians Matty Litwack, Sean Joyce and Tyler Richardson as well as special guest Ahmed Huidobro. The State Theatre features a full-service restaurant and bar with dinner and a drink for less than $20. Reservations recommended. Tickets may be purchased online or at the door.
To Infinity and Beyond
Meet the real-life Apollo 11 astronaut that was the inspiration for the popular Buzz Lightyear character from the Toy Story movie franchise this Saturday at the Air and Space Museum in downtown DC. Buzz Aldrin will sign copies of his book “Mission to Mars: My Vision for Space Exploration” starting at 11 a.m. His latest book features the history of space flight as well as a reflective look at all of the moving parts that were responsible for the Apollo moon landing.
