2008: Gabe Watson is charged. The Tina Watson case makes national news. An Alabama officer reports taking footage of Gabe Watson removing flowers from his wife’s grave.
2009: Gabe Watson pleads not guilty. He is convicted of manslaughter. Gabe serves just 18 months in an Australian prison.
2010: Gabe Watson is indicted for murder in Jefferson County, Ala.
2010: Gabe Watson is released from the prison in Australia and arrives in the United States. He is arrested and released on bond.
2011: An Alabama judge reschedules the trial.
2012: Gabe Watson’s trial begins in the Jefferson County Courthouse in Alabama. At trial, the prosecution states that Gabe stalked Tina into marrying him so that he could murder her for the insurance money.
A manager at Parisians, where Tina worked, testifies that Gabe asked about claiming the insurance benefits a few weeks after Tina’s death.
Tina’s father often cries in the court room. He also cries while on the stand.
