TNA Impact Wrestling held their final television show before “Slammiversary” on May 30 and the pay-per-view card is set. According to Pro Wrestling Scoops, there will be eight matches on the big 11th anniversary card.
The first thing that was announced on “Impact Wrestling” was that the second member of the TNA Impact Hall of Fame will have their name announced at the pay-per-view. The first inductee came last year with Sting, and the best bet for 2013 has to be Jeff Jarrett, the man who founded the company. However, the name won’t be revealed until “Slammiversary.”
The main event on the card will pit world champion Bully Ray against Sting. If Bully Ray wins the match, Sting will never get another world title match again – ever. The show tonight ended with Sting laid out and Aces & Eights standing over him.
Devon will defend his TV title against Joseph Park. This match is a strange one, because Abyss made his comeback a couple of weeks ago, and TNA is still playing on the idea that Park and Abyss are two different people. Will Abyss play into the decision in this match?
The tag team titles are on the line in a four way match with champions Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez defending their belts against Bad Influence, Bobby Roode & Austin Aries and the new team of James Storm and Gunner. Gunner just came back last week and was thrown into the contest.
The Knockouts title will not be on the line, and instead Gail Kim will battle Taryn Terrell in a grudge match.
Kenny King will defend his X-Division title against Chris Sabin and Suicide. On tonight’s show, King took out Sabin but Suicide made the save. The way the new title series looks for the X-Division is that whoever wins is the new champion and whoever is pinned is out, while the other man gets into the next three-way title match.
AJ Styles and Kurt Angle battle in a match, following Styles taking out Angle with a hammer last week. Styles made it clear he is not with Aces & Eights, so this is just a blood feud between the men.
TNA battles Aces & Eights in a six-man tag team match, as Samoa Joe, Magnus and Jeff Hardy take on Garrett Bischoff, Wes Brisco and DOC.
The final match on the card is a GutCheck Bound for Glory qualifying match between Jay Bradley and Sam Shawn.
TNA Impact “Slammiversary” airs on Sunday night, June 2, at 8 p.m. EST on pay-per-view.
