Toni Michelle Braxton, 45, is an American R&B singer-songwriter, pianist, musician, record producer, actress, television personality, and philanthropist.
During her singing career, Braxon has won 6 Grammy Awards, 7 American Music Awards, and 9 Billboard Music Awards. The popular singer has sold over 66 million records worldwide throughout the years.
Even though Braxton has been one of the highest paid singers in the business, she has had two bankruptcies claiming debts as high as $50 million because of bad business deals, according to TMZ.
During her last bankruptcy over a year ago, Braxton lost the rights to 27 of her hit songs.
She was allowed to settle her debts with her creditors and buy back her songs for $20,000, but she had to bid on them. However, the songster was outbid by Ross M. Klein who paid $40,000 for 27 of her popular songs. Braxton can still sing her songs, but she had to pay Klein every time she sings one of the songs he did not buy.
Fortunately Braxton’s hit, “Un-Break My Heart,” was not included in the sale. This is only one of the few hits she can sing without having to pay Klein.
This situation doesn’t seem fair.
