This is it. It went on tonight from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. If you have never been, you should have been! It is perceived to be a really great time. The event is Tuesday nights with the Chicago Canine Concierge group; the First West Town Pup Crawl.
Jennifer Whaley, Owner/Photographer of Fetch Portraits is really excited. Her photography organization has been chosen as a featured vendor for the first of the Chicago Canine Concierge’s weekly events! Tonight the event is being held at Mahoney’s, 551 North Ogden, near Grand in Chicago.
To make the kickoff event of 2013 that much more appealing, Mahoney’s offered 15% off of all of the liquor sales during the event time (from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.). Proceeds were donated to Safe Humane, the featured non-profit organization.
Prizes were raffled off tonight, including a free photo session. The proceeds from the raffle also were donated to Safe Humane.
Just to make tonight a little bit sweeter, the Chicago Party Animals were there! To show their appreciation, they gave away a $200 Pet Birthday Party! The event was even published on Facebook.
Tonight began the launch of the second season of the West Town Pup Crawl. The following Tuesdays (through September 3rd) will feature a different rescue or humane organization that will benefit from the liquor sales proceeds of the evenings. There will also be a wonderful pet product or service vendor or vendors that those attending are able to browse.
Another great thing about these weekly events is that friendly dogs are welcome to attend. There will be delicious food and drink specials to choose from during the 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. time slots.
Chicago is becoming even more dog friendly so there will also be a few other local bars participating in the West Town area tonight and most likely there will be others in the coming weeks. Tonight the extra participants included Matchbox, Aberdeen Tap and Clutch. You were welcome to walk over with your pooch to their patios in order to enjoy their food and drink selections – thus the ‘Pup Crawl!’
The featured rescues, humane organizations and businesses will be invited each week to attend. The lineup will be released each week.
The Chicago Canine Concierge group is hoping that you will be able to come out and join them this summer on Tuesday evenings. While Tuesdays ordinarily are not a night for big events, this group is calling attention to the second weekday of each week in a very big way. Cheers!
