How do I keep my Twitter account running nice and clean? Here are seven very useful and totally free Twitter apps. These tools can help you… find old tweets, delete unwanted tweets, follow or unfollow users and even look for new people to follow.
1. Snap Bird
Snap Bird allows you to search your tweets, favorites, mentions and direct messages by hashtag or keyword. You can also search another Twitter user’s account by simply inserting their Twitter handle in place of yours in the “WHO?” field.
TweetDelete mass deletes up to 3,000 previous tweets using search criteria by the week, month or up to one year. This app works best if you are primarily interested only in deleting your most recent tweets all at once.
TweetEraser also has a search limit of 3,000 tweets but can filter your tweets for deletion by date, text or hashtag. Entering a Twitter username in the “Search options: Text” field will find specific tweets sent or mentioned and remove them easily from your timeline.
DoesFollow is a very basic, simple to use app for checking if one specific Twitter account follows another.
Who.Unfollowed.Me provides a list and history of accounts who have unfollowed you. An X identifies accounts you are still following and may wish to unfollow.
JustUnfollow calculates how many people are not following you back, creating a list in chronological order of who you have followed. For example, if you followed someone’s account one year ago and they are not following back, they are listed first. It also provides lists of who has followed and unfollowed your account most recently. In addition, by selecting the “Inactive following” tab you can view and unfollow accounts that have not tweeted in over one month.
ManageFlitter possesses a very powerful “Search” function enabling you to find users by their Bio, Latest Tweet, Name, Username, Website and Location. This app can also mass select up to 100 accounts at once, making following or unfollowing groups of people quick and easy.
