Sunglasses have been a mark of coolness for decades: Marlon Brando, JFK, Ponch from CHiPs, Tom Cruise all had a way with sunglasses. It’s also very important to protect your eyes from the harmful rays of the sun. However, until recently, I was reluctant to put in my contacts and actually wear sunglasses. They can be heavy on your face — digging into your face on hot days, irritating your skin — becoming sweaty.
Under Armour — known for their athletic gear — now has a terrifically full and diverse line of performance eyewear. I was very glad to have been hosted to experience it! The huge selection includes glasses for pretty much every kind of sport you can think of, police work, plus every kind of hunting and fishing light.

Under Armour sunglasses are cool
These glasses are Under Armour’s Limited Edition satin gold frame Alloy line with rubber sides, brown polarized with gold multiflection.
As you can see, with my haircut and flowery open-necked shirt, they have an awesome 70’s Burt Reynolds vibe. Because of the rubber sides, they don’t heat up in the sun. They don’t pinch the side of your head — they’re wonderfully comfortable.
They’re made to resist smudges and scratches, so that’s going to add to their durability over time.
Under Armour sunglasses in the great outdoors
These are the shiny white Surge sunglasses by Under Armour, with turquoise sides and gray lenses. Here I am in the remote Faroe Islands, up in the North Atlantic. The nature of the terrain here is that they don’t have trees, so the “midnight sun” shines extra brightly. Sunglasses are a must! These ones by Under Armour have a cute, summery look and definitely helped while hiking outdoors.
Tactical sunglasses by Under Armour
You should see the models used to demonstrate Under Armour’s Tactical sunglasses! They’re some real badasses! You can wear them as a cool civilian, too, as RoCK demonstrates. He’s worn them to Orioles games, to the Faroes and to Iceland . . . and they don’t irritate him like glasses usually do.
They’ve got a rugged construction, but feel light on the face.
Under Armour’s Wounded Warrior sunglasses
Under Armour has teamed up with the Wounded Warrior Project. Until December, 2014, Under Armour will make a donation of over $1 million to benefit wounded service members and their families.
This is RoCK’s dad, who served two years in Vietnam as a Marine. Semper Fi! He loves these rimless varieties — they add coolness and lightness. They offer superior eye protection and they’re great outside watching the O’s, sailing or simply mowing the lawn.
