May 22, 2013 marked the beginning of UpGlobal, a new organization formed by Startup Weekend and Startup America Partnership with the goal of widening and deepening the resources available to startups worldwide. UpGlobal will be launched in 110 countries. Current sponsors include the Kauffman Foundation, Case Foundation, Microsoft and Google. The organization has secured the assistance of several entrepreneurial heavy weights and small business advocates.
