We have all heard the sayings “snake in the grass”, and “lower than a snakes belly”, but do those sayings give us any hints about politicians and the fact that snakes have been seen falling out of trees in Walter Pierce Park in Northwest D.C.? Probably not, but isn’t it interesting how this incident and the Genesis description of Eve and the serpent aligns with the motives of some politicians?
However, it is true that some snakes (serpents) did fall from the trees in that park according to WTOP. An excerpt from their story reads;
“On Thursday, May 23, 2013 around 11:40am a call came in about a couple of snakes that fell out of the trees. When the snakes fell they scared the children, and everyone fled. This was in the playground area. I responded but found no snakes. I caught one small enough to fit inside an empty water bottle I had. It was probably a black rat snake. They are indigenous to trees and the warm weather is drawing them out.”
However, one snake was an estimated length of four feet long!
Genesis 3:1-4 Eve said to the serpent:
1Now the serpent was more [subtle] than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? 2And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
One reason that these snakes in D.C. are not related to Satan is that the politicians are NOT subtle as the Bible verse above implies that the serpent was.
Genesis 3:4 And the serpent replied:
4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
We have all been duped one time or another by unrighteous people, and some politicians are just as evil as the serpent; and we [can be] just as gullible as Eve was when it comes to political promises and intentions.
It’s kind of curious how the Genesis Garden of Eden and Walter Pierce Park seem to be places of refuge and/or places of fun and leisure. Although, the Genesis Garden of Eden was “perfect” and Walter Pierce Park is man made, making it imperfect. The similarity is striking when you look at Genesis, considering the fact that these snakes were falling from the trees!
Children were scared, so they were removed from any danger. The article says that the snakes were non-venomous. Snakes that were captured were reported to be Black Snakes and Brown Snakes, both native to that area of the U.S. No one was hurt, just scared and upset. Apparently the warm weather was bringing the snakes out of hibernation.
But we must be on the ball; perhaps Satan is closer than we think. Nope, there is nothing about this story that indicates that Satan is living in D.C., however, we must remember that there are many politicians who are lower than a snakes belly, living in the lush green ($$$) grass of Washington D.C.
