As both a Political and Christianity Examiner, the current Washington scandals become the forefront topic of both categories.
Since the political climate is moving at such a rapidly changing pace, it seemed only logical that this article address the Political Buzz of the nation and especially the Brownsville/Rio Grande Valley, Texas area.
This Deep South Texas Democratic voter majority is an area ravaged by the lowest per capita income in the nation, illegal immigration and drug cartel insertion.
This area finds itself now devastated by their failed votes of hope and change from 2008 and some in 2012 by a man who has diminished their spirits, collapsed their incomes and in many cases even destroyed their homes and families.
Unfortunately, there is no Presidential election for three and a half more years and it appears to both this Brownsville/Rio Grande Valley area of Texas as well as the rest of the nation that America is simply stuck with no hope and nowhere to go.
Some say that congress is aggressively handling all of the scandals which continue to mount up daily in increasing committee hearings; so many in fact that normal house and senate schedules have been drastically altered with most bills introduced on hold or simply tabled for further review.
To the dismay of many with the ratings of congress at an all-time low, most of this area and the country have little to no confidence in the ability of congress to accomplish anything.
In the defense of congress however, both houses and both parties seem to finally be exhibiting grave concern over the whimsical answers and half-truths being purported by the current administration as the best information available on any subject.
It matters not if it’s the Benghazi scandal, IRS scandals, AP and FOX News Scandals, Justice Department scandal, EPA scandal and many more; this particular White House claims lack of, limited or no knowledge on all of the sandals.
In other words (and the double negative is intentional), nobody Knows nothing about anything.
Nonsense; there is no way somebody doesn’t know something about some of the most troubling systematic decision making involving human life, the right to freedom of religion and free speech and the ability of the Federal Government to unduly tax legitimate non-profit corporations simply because they might oppose the political views of the current administration.
As the scandals continue to mount up, the words of William Shakespeare from Romeo and Juliet seem appropriate, “a rose by any other name” only here it should be, “lies by any other name”.
This White House seems to equate the absence of or lack of knowledge about something as equal to the truth and not a lie.
The problem is a lie is a lie is a lie and it doesn’t matter if one claims the absence of or lack of knowledge about the subject; no matter what you call it, it is a lie.
In fact most courts in the past have insisted that where a person is in a responsible position of authority and an act of impropriety or illegality has been committed even by another employee or the company or corporation itself, the claim of a lack of or absence of knowledge of the wrongful or felonious act can be construed as a lie.
In many cases, CEOs and others in companies big and small have been held accountable by way of large fines, imprisonment or both.
Yet, it appears when it comes to the White House, especially this White House, which anything from lack of knowledge to wrongful timing of the president’s knowledge of a situation like Benghazi can be swept away as a matter of National Security or Executive Privilege.
After two years of such practice following the Nixon White House (which also included an IRS scandal) involvement in the infamous Watergate Scandal; it took a plea bargain and reduced sentence by congress which brought about one man named John Dean, chief White House Counsel who brought the entire administration down and ultimately led to the first resignation of an American President and subsequently the first ever appointed American President in Gerald Ford via his appointment as Vice President by President Richard Nixon.
In his book, People of the Lie, Dr. M. Scott Peck points out that people often fail to fall into a standard psychological norm accepting both who they are or what they have done because of the ease to believe a lie over the truth; this is the current situation in our country.
Many of our citizens don’t want to accept the fact that once again our leaders are failing us and even strategically lying to us.
It has taken the better part of nearly five years of warnings by political watchers and pundits and alternative news sources to finally get the rest of the country to say, “Yes, there could be a problem here and our president might even have a different agenda than the majority of the country; he might even be lying”.
Only continued honest, sincere and unbiased investigation will ultimately tell the tale and both houses of congress should waste no time in attempting to get to the truth; where ever it leads.
If it leads nowhere then fine but if it leads to the unthinkable as did Watergate, then both congress and the American people should be prepared for both the resulting political and moral consequences of another soiled American Presidency.
Watergate as bad as it was, gave way to one of the worst periods of economic and foreign policy in the history of the United States.
Until the Obama Presidency, President Jimmy Carter was seen by most historians as the absolute worst and most incompetent president ever.
He is and was an honest man but a very poor leader.
Should Obama ultimately be removed from or forced from office, America would simply go from bad to worst with a President Biden.
Biden is an admitted liar having plagiarized a law paper in law school under his own name as well as having made deliberate libelous statements about fellow politicians on both sides of the isle throughout his political career.
As such congress should be cautious but thorough, direct, leave no stone unturned and be prepared for the worst.
