The video of Randy Orton getting attacked spread around the Internet fast and the WWE reported that he suffered an injured groin, but won’t miss time. Now, Rajah reported on July 31 that the Randy Orton attacker was a local wrestler from South Africa.
The incident happened on the WWE’s tour of South Africa. Orton had wrestled Big E Langston and was celebrating by standing on the corner buckles and posing for the fans. At that moment, a fan ran in the ring moved in behind Orton and hit him in the groin.
Orton dropped from the buckle and security rushed in. As they pulled the fan out, Orton kicked him in the face.
Now, it turns out the Randy Orton attacker is a South African wrestler named Tshepo Sekhabi, known in the area as “Jozi the Wrestling Machine.” Despite the fact that he is a wrestler, the attack was not planned by the WWE and he was just a fan running in to the ring.
Sekhabi did an interview with a South African news website and said he ran in and struck Orton because he didn’t like Randy Orton. He also said he was trying to make a name for himself.
Sekhabi was not arrested after attacking Randy Orton, but he was banned from the casino resort the attack happened at for five years. When the WWE was asked if Orton planned an apology for kicking Sekhabi in the face, the WWE said Orton was the victim.
