While incontinence may seem like a rather embarrassing topic that people tend to avoid discussing, professional dancer and two-time Dancing With The Stars winner, Cheryl Burke, wants everyone to be sensitive to the issues surrounding the problem.
“It’s important for people who experience bladder control issues, to know that I can wear Depend [the No. 1 brand in incontinence protection] under my dance costume. It fits like real underwear and you cannot even see it,” Cheryl states with confidence.
Roughly 25 million adult Americans experience urinary incontinence and it has been estimated 75-80% of those afflicted are women. Women with incontinence issues often lack self confidence and certainly lose their sense of “sexiness”. But with Cheryl’s help, Depend is hoping to change women’s perspectives on this condition.
Chery has partnered with Depend for The Great American Try On. This is an online program that partners celebrities with Depends to completely revamp people’s previous perception of absorbent underwear. For this program, Cheryl does what she does best, dance. She fox trots in the underwear-like Silhouette for Women briefs to demonstrate to women suffering from bladder control issues too can carry on with their lives and feel sexy while doing it.
“I’ve always been passionate about encouraging women to feel good about themselves in all aspects of their lives. It’s important to me that women feel confident in themselves,” Cheryl shares, “I am proud that my partnership with Depend also supports a great charitable organization like Dress for Success.”
Dress for Success is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of women by providing them with professional clothing, employment retention programs and ongoing support in order to help women become self-sufficient and successful.
Depend, The Great American Try On and Dress for Success are lucky to have Cheryl on their team. Cheryl is a great representative of a self-sufficient and successful woman while being the ideal role model for active women who may suffer from incontinence but still want to remain active and live life to its fullest. They see Cheryl’s silhouette in Depend and see the potential in their own lives.
“I do a lot of hiking, bikram yoga, cardio classes and jazzersize [outside of dancing]. It’s important to change [up your exercise routine] because your body gets used to doing the same thing after awhile. It also helps rev up the metabolism,” Cheryl exposes.
The best part is that Depend will allow women with incontinence to participate in all those activities without the slightest hesitation. Cheryl exemplifies the modern sexy confidence that Depend will give women with bladder control issues. Depend is no longer my grandmother’s “diaper” but the new accessory that allows women the key to an active life including dancing the night away.
