Lilee Jean and her family have been dealt the most unfair of blows. Back in Oct 21, 2011 Andrew Put and Chelsey Whittle were told their little girl Lilee Jean, fondly called LJ, had Glioblastoma a form of brain cancer with no cure. She was only 10 months old. Fast forward May 31, 2013 and Lilee is still in the fight of her life. That big smile will melt anyone’s heart, and it’s hard to believe that such a happy, well adjusted girl, and her parents could still be living this nightmare.
Lilee’s parents Andrew and Chelsey don’t know how much time they have left with Lilee, but according to the latest MRI it would suggest less time rather than more, certainly not words any parent wants to hear.
Lilee might be young but she too has a bucket list. Chelsey, LJ’s mom, decided to call it the “Dancing in the Rain” list rather than a bucket list.
Lilee has already checked off a few things. She’s been to Canuck Place, enjoyed a memorable vacation to Disneyland with her family, and a trip to Hawaii thanks to an amazing local business. Yet another family has offered to chauffeur Lilee and family around for an evening in their collector car. The offers keep pouring in as people try to make sense of such a tragic story while hoping and praying for a miracle.
When it comes to what Lilee wants to do here is the list – it’s simple but ever so powerful.
Dancing in the Rain Wish List

- Go to the watersides
- Visit puppies at the SPCA

No one knows how long Lilee has. Her doctors don’t give much hope and indicate that things are going to drastically change in the next couple of months as the tumor is now rapidly growing. Andrew and Chelsey are trying not to focus on the future instead trying to focus on the now and enjoy every minute they have with their baby girl. The courage this family has shown is truly amazing.
Lilee’s parents decided to hold a BBQ so that everyone that become a part of Lilee’s story could meet her.
“A big “love for Lilee” picnic is being held on June 8th and we would like ALL OF YOU to come and join us! So many people have told us they would love to meet our little angel and it’s impossible to set up that many individual play-dates. So this is your chance! It will be in the early afternoon (2-5 ish) and either in Chilliwack or Abby! We will let you know ASAP where it’s going to be! Please put it on your calendar and come join us!”
